Turtle Ornament
British Columbia is home to two native turtles. The fresh water Western painted turtle is a Canadian subspecies of small freshwater turtles. Rarely sighted, the Luth marine turtle is believed to migrate along the coastal waters of the pacific. The ornamental hangings are popular gifts for those we know who enjoy the amazing diversity of coastal life.
Commonly found in BC lakes the Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta) has a smooth dark carapace (upper shell) with red and yellow patterns on its limbs. Using the natural textures and grains of wood along with the laser we cut wooden ornaments, with colours inspired by the coast.
The wooden piece is approx. 110x100mm with space for an engraved name to make this a unique and individual gift.
